Details & Architecture

A rectangular dock with beautiful details was built in the Turku archipelago. The railing adds a touch of grandeur and the cut following the rock demonstrates the precision of the craftsmanship.

Material

Pressure-impregnated wood was chosen as the material, which withstands particularly well the Finnish weather conditions by the sea and does not start cracking even with heavy use.

Deep shoreline

In the deep shores of the Turku archipelago, it must be prepared that the dock stays firmly in place. For this dock, vertical steel piles were drilled into the rock under the water to form the frame, and the wooden parts were built around the metal.
